To mark World Heart Day 2025, Maa Tarini Superspeciality Hospital, Keonjhar, organized a grand Walkathon under the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat” to spread awareness about heart diseases and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The event began early in the morning at 7:00 AM from the hospital premises and covered several key areas of Keonjhar town — including Shirajuddin Chhak, Mahatma Gandhi Chhak, Collector Road, Biju Patnaik Chhak, and Town Thana Chhak — before concluding back at Maa Tarini Superspeciality Hospital through Labanya Chhak.

Flag-Off and Leadership

The Walkathon was inaugurated by Municipality Chairman Madam Niku Sahu, in the presence of Dr. Ganeswar Mahanta (Managing Director), Mrs. Suchismita Mahanta (Director), and Dr. Pramod Kumar Pani (Chief Operating Officer) of Maa Tarini Superspeciality Hospital. The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was joined by Dr. Sandeep Patnaik, Chief of Voice of Keonjhar, along with other distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ganeswar Mahanta emphasized the importance of early screening and preventive care in reducing heart-related deaths. “Our goal is to inspire people to walk more, eat right, and get their hearts checked regularly,” he said.

Sujit Kumar Singh, and ambulance drivers and technicians — all played crucial roles in ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event.

The Walkathon was graced by several notable personalities, including DFO (I.F.S) Mr. Dhanraj, President of Rotary Club of Keonjhar Mr. Hari Har Mahanta, Secretary Mr. Bijay Kumar Behera, Dr. S.C. Kahautory, and other Rotary members.

Also present were Voice of Keonjhar Founder Dr. Sandeep Patnaik, Founder of Indian By Birth Mr. Sunil Behera, Co-Founder Mr. Satya Ranjan Sahoo, and Municipality Vice-Chairman Mr. Bandhu Prasaran Das. The Keonjhar Town Police provided seamless security arrangements, while media representatives and reporters actively covered the event to reach a wider audience.
